Profiles of your Osteopath
Vaughan Cooper
I qualified from the British School of Osteopathy in 1988 and established a practice in Long Eaton, on the Nottingham / Derby border.
The practice has grown over the years and is the longest established practice in the area, now entering its 21st year. I treat all forms of injuries, from work related strains and pains, to aches from your favourite hobbies, as well as sports injuries.
With a background in athletics I have worked closely with local sports groups including athletics, football, rugby, gymnastics and trampoline. Over the years I have worked with many international, professional and national sports stars, as well as the local community.
I have worked as part of U.K. athletics medical team since 2002. In 2004 I was part of the medical team that traveled to the Olympic Games in Athens and spent two weeks looking after some of our Olympic stars.
At present I am working with U.K. able bodied and disability athlete's based at Loughborough University.
I have been the Osteopath to Nottingham Forest Football Club since 2005, Notts County Football Club till 2009 and currently a Consultant Osteopath for Sheffield Wednesday Football Club.
Teaching
From 2006 - 2011 I worked as a clinical tutor for the College of Osteopaths. I was responsible for supervising and teaching clinic based subjects, to students on the Osteopathy degree course, at Keele University, Stoke-on-Trent.
I am away from the practice one day a week, so please be patient if you cannot get an immediate appointment to see me.
